A battery management apparatus disclosed herein includes a sensor unit configured to obtain battery data of a plurality of battery cells, a memory configured to store a reference parameter for determining whether the battery data is normal, and a controller configured to generate pre-processed data by pre-processing the battery data, generate converted data by converting the pre-processed data based on a Gramian angular field (GAF) algorithm, and determine abnormal battery data from the battery data based on the converted data and the reference parameter.
