A secondary battery and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The secondary battery includes an electrode assembly, a case body having an open first side surface accommodating the electrode assembly and an electrolyte solution, and a case cover attached to the first side surface of the case body, the case body may include an injection port on a second side surface different from the first side surface for receiving the electrolyte solution, and a discharge port may be on a third side surface opposite to the second side surface and discharges at least a part of the electrolyte solution injected into the injection port to an outside.
