SPLASH RESISTANT OIL TANK FILL TUBE
DRIVE
August 24, 2016
A fill tube (240; 340) for an oil tank (201) may have at least one baffle (345, 346, 347) coupled to an inner wall (348) of the fill tube (240; 340). A first baffle (345) may have an aperture (415). A release tube (355) may be coupled to the baffle (345) at the aperture (415). An object may be inserted through the aperture (415). The object may force open a flapper valve (242; 342) coupled to the fill tube (240; 340). Pressure in the oil tank (201) may be released through the flapper valve (242; 342). The baffles (345, 346, 347) may prevent hot oil from spraying out of the fill tube (240; 340). After the pressure has been equalized, oil may be poured into the fill tube (240; 340) to fill the oil tank (201).
