An instrument cluster (1), in particular for a vehicle, is provided with a display panel (2) having a plurality of graphic areas (5, 6) and with a backlighting device (10) arranged behind the display panel (2) for backlighting the graphic areas (5, 6); said device has at least one light source (21) and at least one light-guide element (26), which is provided with a receiving portion (27) facing the light source (21) for directly receiving a light beam (22) and with at least one transmitting portion (29) for transmitting and guiding the light towards at least one (5) of the graphic areas; moreover, a cover (30) is provided for shielding rays of light passing through the receiving portion (27) and directed onto the display panel (2); the cover (30) defines a channel (34), which has an inlet (35) facing the receiving portion (27) and at least one outlet (36) facing one (6) of the graphic areas, said channel being shaped in such a way as to transmit light indirectly from its inlet (35) to its outlet (36).
