The bumper assembly comprises a cross-member and at least one shock absorber connected to the cross-member, the shock absorber comprising a central core (32) formed of a first half-core (36) and a second half-core (38) applied against each other in a core junction plane (A), and a shell (34) designed to deform under the effect of a longitudinal compression force, the shell (34) surrounding the central core (32) and being formed of a first half-shell (58) and a second half-shell (60) applied against each other in a shell junction plane (B). The core junction plane (A) and the shell junction plane (B) form a non-zero angle between them.
