The invention relates to a light source module (1) for a vehicle headlight (2), wherein the light source module (1) has at least one laser light source (3) and at least one luminous element (4) that can be excited by illumination with laser light to emit visible light, which can be irradiated by the laser light source (3), wherein the laser light source (3) and the luminous element (4) are arranged at a distance from one another, at least one light guide element (14) is arranged between the laser light source (3) and the luminous element (4), and irregularities (21) that scatter the laser light are provided in or on the light guide element. The invention further relates to a vehicle headlight (2) having at least one light source module (1) of this kind.
