Device and method for servicing an air conditioning system, wherein the device comprises at least a first coupling (10) for connecting the device to a first service connection of the air conditioning system, a reservoir (3) for the refrigerant, a compressor (4) and a plurality of shut-off valves (101-113) for selective release of different fluid connections. The device comprises a membrane accumulator (7) with a pressure side (7a) and a storage side (7b) separated from the pressure side (7a) by the membrane (7c) of the membrane accumulator (7). By switching combinations of the shut-off valves (101-113), a filling fluid connection (A) for liquid refrigerant from a riser tube (3a) of the reservoir (3) to the storage side (7b) of the membrane accumulator (7), a pressure buildup fluid connection (B) for a pressure fluid from a connection (30a) of a pressure fluid reservoir (30) via the compressor (4) to the pressure side (7a) of the membrane accumulator, and a charging fluid connection (C) from the storage side (7b) of the membrane accumulator (7) to the first coupling (10) are selectively releasable.
