The invention relates to a commercial vehicle body structure erected above a loading area (5) of the commercial vehicle (1) and comprising side walls (L1,L2,9,10) that delimit a cargo hold (12) of the commercial vehicle (1) for receiving cargo (TG), wherein an abutment point (41-44) is arranged on the side surface (23) assigned to the cargo hold (12) of at least one of the side walls (L1,L2), which abutment point is intended for striking a transport securing element (47,50) that is provided for securing the position of the cargo (TG) in the cargo hold (12). In that the abutment point (41-44) is formed on a securing device (24-27) that is loadable in tension in its longitudinal direction (LZ), is flexible in bending, and extends in the longitudinal direction of the assigned side surface (23) and at a distance from the loading area (5), which securing device is guided in a loosely displaceable manner in its longitudinal direction (LZ) on the side wall (L1,L2) and is fixed with one of its ends (28-31) to the commercial vehicle body structure (6), while its other end (36,37) is freely movable relative to the assigned side surface (23), there is available a method of securing the position of cargo that is simplified in handling.
