The invention relates to a commercial vehicle with a floor (16) on which a loading platform (2) is formed, and with a tarpaulin structure (3) delimiting a cargo hold with two uprights (4,5,7,8) aligned perpendicularly with respect to the loading platform (2) and assigned to a side (L1,L2) of the loading platform (2), and a tarpaulin (S1,S2) which is displaceable from a closed position into an open position in which it releases a loading opening (Ö), wherein the tarpaulin (S1,S2) has reinforcements in order to be able to withstand a load pressing against it from the cargo hold. In order to ensure in such a commercial vehicle with simple handling adequate securing against lateral breaking out of transported goods, the invention provides that a lath-like configured side wall (18,19) which is pivotably mounted on the floor (16) by means of a bracket and extends from a position of use in which the lath-like side wall (18,19) extends between two adjacent uprights (4,7,5) of the tarpaulin structure (3) and is arranged at a distance above the loading platform (2), can be pivoted into an opening position in which it releases the loading opening (Ö) of the tarpaulin structure (3).
