TARPAULIN COVERING DEVICE AND A CONTAINER HAVING SAME WITH AN UPPER LOADING OPENING

Container with an upper loading opening (3) and a tarpaulin cover device comprising a tarpaulin (5), an elongated winding core (7), and a tarpaulin tensioning device (7, 21), wherein the tarpaulin (5): - is fixed on one hand to a first side of the container - and on the other hand to the winding core (7), - is spreadable by rolling the winding core (7) from a first container side (9) to a second container side (15) across the loading opening (3), and - is tensionable by means of the tarpaulin tensioning device (7, 21) in a closed position covering the loading opening (3), wherein the tarpaulin tensioning device (7, 21) has on the second container side (15) at least one tensioning hook section protruding outward, over which the winding core (7) is movable when spreading the tarpaulin (5) and into which the winding core (7) is hookable for tensioning the tarpaulin (5) after its spreading, wherein the winding core (7) in its state hooked into the tensioning hook section is rotatable in order to wind up the tarpaulin (5) a little bit again and thereby to tension it in the closed position, and wherein the tarpaulin tensioning device (7, 21) comprises a locking device (21) for locking the winding core (7) in a winding core rotational position tensioning the tarpaulin (5) in the closed position, wherein the locking device (21) has at least two engagement means that can be brought into mutually locking engagement for locking the winding core (7), of which one (21) is fastened to the winding core or to an element (13) connected to the winding core for joint rotation - and the other is fastened to the container, wherein the tarpaulin tensioning device (7, 21) comprises a ratchet mechanism (21) comprising the engagement means (21).
