DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SUPPORTING A DRIVER OF A VEHICLE, IN PARTICULAR A COMMERCIAL VEHICLE

The invention relates to a device for assisting a driver of a vehicle, in particular a commercial vehicle, wherein a start-stop device (2) is provided, by means of which an internal combustion engine forming a drive device of the vehicle can be automatically shut down when the moving vehicle comes to a stop, wherein the start-stop device (2) has a starting device (3) actuable by the driver, by the actuation of which the shut-down internal combustion engine can be restarted. According to the invention, a deactivation device (10) actuable by the driver is provided, by the actuation of which the start-stop device (2) can be deactivated for a defined deactivation time interval (t), wherein after expiration of the deactivation time interval (t) the start-stop device (2) can be automatically activated again.
