User interface and method for adapting a menu bar on a user interface

A user interface and a method for adapting a menu bar (3) on a user interface are proposed. The method comprises the steps of: - displaying the menu bar (3) on a display unit (1) of the user interface, - receiving a first user input for displaying a two-dimensional arrangement (7) in the menu bar (3) of displayable entries (6) representing functional scopes of the user interface (5), - displaying the arrangement (7) on the display unit (1), - receiving a second predefined user input relating to an entry of the menu bar (3) or an entry (6) of the arrangement (7), and in response thereto - adapting the menu bar (3).
