Tank and method for its production

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing an internally coated chamber (2) of a tank (1) for operating fluids of motor vehicles, with two metallic half-shells (3, 4), of which one has at least one opening (6) spaced apart from its edge (5), comprising the steps: applying coating material to the concave inner side (16, 17) of each half-shell (3, 4) while leaving free a respective peripheral edge region (21, 22) extending from the edge (5, 20) of the half-shell (3, 4); joining the half-shells (3, 4) at the peripheral edge regions (21, 22), externally welding the peripheral edge regions (21, 22) with a peripheral weld seam (23) and allowing it to cool; and inserting a spray nozzle (26', 26") through the at least one opening (6) and spraying further coating material onto the inwardly facing parts (28, 29) of the peripheral edge regions (21, 22). The invention further relates to a tank (1) manufactured using such a method.
