The invention relates to a method for producing a coated internal surface (4), in particular for producing a coated bore (1) of an internal combustion engine. It is proposed that the method be carried out at least with the following steps: - producing a base body (3) present in the blank; - boring out the bore (1) and pre-machining it; - applying an enamel coating (2) to the internal surface (4) of the bore (1), and - post-treatment of the coated bore (1), wherein the enamel coating (2) metallurgically bonds with the base material of the bore (1) through phase formation.
