An ambient light unit and a method for adjusting ambient light by means of an ambient light unit are proposed. The ambient light unit (1) is for a vehicle (10) and comprises: - a light-emitting element (2) for generating ambient light, and - a touch-sensitive input element (3) for modifying a light intensity and/or a color tone of the ambient light, characterized in that the touch-sensitive input element (3) is arranged in close proximity to the light-emitting element (2).
