METHOD FOR SUPPORTING A DRIVER OF A VEHICLE, IN PARTICULAR A COMMERCIAL VEHICLE

The invention relates to a method for assisting a driver of a vehicle, in particular a commercial vehicle, wherein a navigation device (7) is provided, by means of which a driving route optimized with respect to at least one optimization parameter is determined and displayed to the driver. According to the invention, when determining the optimized driving route, date- and vehicle-dependent, in particular date- and vehicle-weight-dependent, driving restrictions on defined route sections are taken into account. Alternatively and/or additionally, the driver is displayed information by means of the navigation device (7) regarding relevant date- and vehicle-dependent, in particular date- and vehicle-weight-dependent, driving restrictions on the determined driving route.
