The invention relates to a method for calculating optimal vehicle guidance, in particular commercial vehicle guidance, in which a path search algorithm is executed by means of a computing device (13), by means of which a path optimized with respect to at least one defined optimization parameter, in particular steering time and/or vehicle energy consumption, between a starting point (5) and a destination point (7) of a driving route (3) is determined, wherein the optimized path (23) is calculated as a function of traffic-relevant route-dependent events (21). According to the invention, traffic-relevant time-dependent events (21) are also taken into account when calculating the optimized path (23).
