Described and illustrated is a sliding tarpaulin structure (1,1"') of a utility vehicle (N), in particular a truck, trailer or semi-trailer, with at least one sliding tarpaulin unit (5,5',5") and at least one corner post (7,7"'), wherein the sliding tarpaulin unit (5,5',5") has at least one tarpaulin tension tube/tarpaulin tension profile (9,9"') connected to a tarpaulin (8,8',8",8"'), wherein in the closed state of the sliding tarpaulin unit (5,5',5") the tarpaulin (8,8',8",8"') is partially wound around the tarpaulin tension tube/tarpaulin tension profile (9"') and the tarpaulin tension tube/tarpaulin tension profile (9,9"') is received in a receptacle (10,10'") of the corner post (7,7"'). In order for the tarpaulin tension profiles to be held more reliably and simply in the receptacles of the corner posts, it is provided that in the closed state of the sliding tarpaulin unit (5,5',5") at least one locking means (13,13',13",13"') fixed to the tarpaulin (8,8',8",8"') and/or to the tarpaulin tension profile (9,9"') is received in the receptacle (10) of the corner post (7,7"') in such a manner that the at least one locking means (13,13',13",13"') prevents withdrawal of the tarpaulin tension tube/tarpaulin tension profile (9,9"') in the region of the locking means (13,13',13",13'") from the receptacle (10,10"').
