Vehicle pneumatic tire for passenger cars with belt layers, with two sidewalls, with two bead regions (2) each having at least one bead core (3), with a single-ply radial carcass (1, 1a), which runs through the tire from bead region (2) to bead region (2), wraps around the bead regions (2) from axially inward to axially outward and is designed as a carcass turnup (1a), wherein the end of the carcass turnup (6) is arranged at a height which is radially above the bead region (2) in a height range (5) of ≥ 13 mm and < 40 mm, measured from the lower edge of the bead core (3) in the radial direction (rR), and wherein the end of the carcass turnup (6) is covered with a material strip (7).
