Charge air cooler for a combustion engine
DRIVE
September 9, 2015
A liquid-cooled charge air cooler (7) for changing the temperature of fresh gas of an internal combustion engine, with one or more fresh gas layers (15) and one or more water layers (16), wherein the fresh gas layers (15) and the water layers (16) extend over a surface and are accommodated by a housing of the charge air cooler (7), is to be constructed in such a way that fuel temperature control of the internal combustion engine is simultaneously achieved and the fuel to be temperature-controlled is spatially separated from the charge air to be cooled with high safety. This is achieved in that a fuel cooler (6) for changing the temperature of fuel, which is to be supplied to the internal combustion engine, is arranged on an outward-facing wall section (14) of the housing of the charge air cooler (7).
