The invention relates to a cover, in particular in the rear area of a motor vehicle, above at least one retractable rollover bar, wherein in the cover above the rollover bar at least one tear-open region is arranged which, in the torn-open state, releases a passage opening for the rollover bar(s), and the tear-open region forms a hinge with at least one edge and the edges or edge regions of the tear-open region located outside the hinge form predetermined breaking lines. Furthermore, the tear-open region(s) is/are hinged via at least one textile hinge to the material of the cover surrounding the tear-open region.
