A load carrier foot (1) comprising a support body (3) comprising a support surface (4) adapted to rest against a first surface of a vehicle, a first bracket (6) adapted to grip about a second surface of the vehicle, a second bracket (6') adapted to grip about a third surface of the vehicle, and a tensioning arrangement (10) adapted to impart a clamping force at between the support surface (4) and the first and the second brackets (6, 6') to retain the load carrier foot (1) to the vehicle. The first and the second brackets (6, 6') are pivotally connected to each other. A load carrying foot (1) according to the present invention has relatively few components while still providing a rigid and strong connection to the vehicle.
