The present invention relates to an electrical heating device, in particular for a motor vehicle, with a housing (2) which encloses a circulation chamber (14) through which a medium can flow, into which at least one heating fin (22) projects, which is in heat-conducting contact with at least one PTC heating element (28) and with a control device (S) provided as a structural unit with at least one control circuit board (64) which is accommodated in a control housing (60) and with at least one power dissipation-generating semiconductor power switch (62) which is electrically connected to conductor tracks of the control circuit board (64). [0002] The present invention seeks to provide an improvement and to specify an electrical heating device of the type mentioned at the outset as well as a method for its manufacture which takes the above requirements into account. This concerns good dissipation of the power loss generated by the semiconductor power switch (62) to the environment. Furthermore, the semiconductor power switch (62) should also be accommodated in the control housing (60) with the necessary safety. To solve the above task, it is proposed with the present invention that the semiconductor power switch (62) is provided in heat-conducting contact with the control housing (60) and is fastened directly to it.
