The present invention relates to a device for charging at least one electric vehicle, comprising at least one first electrical connection element, designed and configured to connect the device to a power grid, and at least one second electrical connection element, designed and configured to connect the device to at least one electric vehicle, wherein the device comprises at least one electrical energy storage unit and at least one first rectifier, wherein the at least one first electrical connection element is connectable or connected to an input side of the at least one first rectifier, and the at least one electrical energy storage unit is connectable or connected to an output side of the at least one first rectifier, and the at least one second electrical connection element is connectable or connected to the at least one energy storage unit.
