The invention relates to a vehicle pneumatic tire in radial construction with a multi-layer belt, which comprises at least two belt layers made of reinforcing elements embedded in rubber made of steel, wherein at least one of these belt layers comprises monofilaments with a substantially elliptical cross-section with a first diameter D and a second diameter d, wherein the second diameter d < the first diameter D, and wherein the first diameter D is in a range between 0.40 mm and 0.60 mm. The invention is characterized in that the second diameter d ≤ 0.20 mm.
