The invention relates to a transport vehicle for piece goods, in particular in the form of compressed bales, with a loading platform that is bounded by front and rear end wall elements and by longitudinal side parts, wherein the longitudinal side parts cooperate with an opening mechanism for adjustment between a transport position and an opening position for loading and unloading the loading platform, such that the longitudinal side parts are hinged to the opening mechanism in such a manner that the longitudinal side parts are pivoted upward in the opening position.
