The invention relates to a driver assistance system for a commercial vehicle combination, wherein the commercial vehicle combination is designed as an articulated vehicle (1) consisting of a towing vehicle (2) and a semi-trailer (3) or as an articulated train consisting of a towing vehicle and a trailer, wherein a coupling device is provided which has a lockable coupling receiving part (4; 37) on the towing vehicle side and an associated coupling element (13; 44) on the semi-trailer (3)/trailer (43) that can be driven into the coupling receiving part (4; 37), and wherein at least one reversing camera device with at least one video camera (14) and at least one associated monitor (15) for a video image (17) in the driver's field of view is provided on the towing vehicle side. According to the invention, the at least one video camera (14), in particular for performing a coupling operation, is assigned to the coupling receiving part (4; 37), in particular arranged in the direction of travel in front of the coupling receiving part (4; 37) or in the coupling receiving part (4; 37), such that the area of the coupling receiving part (4; 37) as well as a rearward environment with the coupling element (13; 44) can be captured and displayed in the video image (17). In the video image (17), a guiding marking visible to the driver is furthermore displayed as an aiming aid which visualizes the entry area for the coupling element (13; 44) on the coupling receiving part (4; 37). Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for performing a coupling operation.
