Provided is a brake shoe attachment structure of a tread brake unit device (1) where a brake shoe (2) can be detached from and attached onto a shoe head (37) with a tube (10A, 10B) remaining connected to a dust collector. [0002] A brake shoe attachment structure of a tread brake unit device (1) includes a shoe head (37) having a depression (37A) for receiving therein an attachment plate (44) of a brake shoe (2); a shoe cotter (46) configured to be inserted into the depression (37A) and an opening in the attachment plate (44) to attach the brake shoe (2) onto the shoe head (37); and first and second dust collectors (50A) and (50B) configured to collect abrasion powder resulting from the brake shoe (2) being pressed against a tread (3A) of a wheel (3). The first and second dust collectors (50A) and (50B) are provided outside the path along which the shoe cotter (46) may be inserted.
