The present invention relates to a method (400) for determining a load of a wheel of a vehicle, characterized in that it comprises the following steps: - determination (404) of at least one piece of data, called footprint data, relating to a contact surface between said wheel and the ground; - calculation (420) of the load of said wheel from a predetermined relationship linking said at least one piece of footprint data to said load.
