The invention relates to a securing rail (10) for installation in vehicles. This securing rail (10) is designed as at least one profile and has on its upper side (11) a plurality of recesses (12) arranged side by side in the direction of extension of the securing rail (10), which are designed identically to one another and comprise one or more undercuts (13). The securing rail (10) has a solid area (15) on each of its two long sides (14). The invention now proposes that the securing rail (10) can only be fixed to a surface (42) located beneath it via its solid areas (15). In this regard, the securing rail (10) is designed such that the fastening means (40) do not protrude beyond the upper side (11) of the securing rail (10) or beyond its long sides (14) (Fig. 2).
