Improved network observability is provided by a second measuring device operating independently of the first measuring device, at least partially arranged in the housing, measuring at least one electrical quantity of the distribution network independently of a charging process of an electric vehicle, by a measured quantity dependent on the measured electrical quantity being remotely transmitted to a control center arranged spatially separated from the charging station, and by the measured quantity being compared with a target quantity and a comparison result being output.
