Electrically assisted bicycle comprising a battery support (12) that defines an interior housing in the form of a well (32) open upward and downward, and which is adapted to receive a removable battery (34) by vertical interlocking. The battery support carries interior lateral electrical contacts (42) arranged in the interior housing and adapted to bear substantially horizontally against exterior lateral electrical contacts (44) belonging to the battery.
