The purpose of the present invention is to provide a drive control device whereby the occurrence of torque loss when the engine is started during electric motor travel in a hybrid vehicle is suppressed. The output torque of a second electric motor (MG2) is increased, a clutch (CL) is released, and the engine (12) is rotationally driven by a first electric motor (MG1), when the engine (12) is started during electric motor travel in an electric motor travel mode (EV-2) during which the vehicle is driven using the first electric motor (MG1) and the second electric motor (MG2). As a result, the reduction in the vehicle drive torque corresponding to the reduction in the output torque of the first electric motor (MG1) contributing to the vehicle drive force is compensated by the increase in drive torque corresponding to the increase in the output torque of the second electric motor (MG2), thereby mitigating change in the vehicle drive torque and suppressing the occurrence of torque loss.
