Folding damper for a wiper arm
DRIVE
January 7, 2015
A wiper arm (110) of a wiper system comprises a first linkage (130) for connection with a wiper shaft (115) and a second linkage (135) for connection with a wiper blade (125). The linkages (130, 135) are hingedly connected to one another about a hinge axis (140) and an elastic element (145) is provided for supplying a bias of the linkages about the hinge axis (140). A hinge damper (150) for the wiper arm (110) comprises a first damper element (210) for connection with the first linkage (130) and a second damper element (215) for connection with the second linkage (135), wherein the hinge damper (150) provides a predetermined braking force about the hinge axis (140). The damper elements (210, 215) are arranged to be linearly displaceable relative to one another and interlock in such a manner that the braking force is only produced when a hinge angle between the linkages (130, 135) is greater than a predetermined value (905).
