A hinge damper (150) for the wiper arm (110) comprises a first damper element (210) for connection with the first linkage (130) and a second damper element (215) for connection with the second linkage (135), wherein the hinge damper (150) provides a predetermined braking force about the hinge axis (140). The damper elements (210, 215) are arranged to be linearly displaceable relative to one another and interlock in such a manner that the braking force is only produced when a hinge angle between the linkages (130, 135) is greater than a predetermined value (905).",
