The invention relates to a power management device (1) integrating a grid input (3); a first power interface (5) for critical loads of a local network; an islanding switch (7); a central controller (10); a grid-forming inverter (14) configured to provide uninterrupted power supply to critical loads; at least one battery (11); at least one bidirectional charging terminal (12) for an electric vehicle (13) such that the domestic battery (11) can be used to recharge the electric vehicle (13) and, when an electric vehicle (13) is connected with sufficient charge, a battery of the electric vehicle can be used to recharge the domestic battery (11); such that the power management device can operate in an islanding mode in which the domestic battery (11) and/or the battery of the electric vehicle (13) supply the power interface (5).
