Transport container (1), in particular vehicle body or container, with a frame structure (2) enclosing a transport space (3), with a wall (4) and with a pivoting device (5) for pivoting the wall (4) between a closed position resting against the frame structure (2) and closing a loading opening (6), and an open position releasing the loading opening (6), wherein the pivoting device (5) comprises a lifting arm element (7) articulated to the wall (4) and a drive unit (9) for torque transmission to the lifting arm element (7). The pivoting device (5) has a link element (10) between the frame structure (2) and the lifting arm element (7), which is connected via a first joint (11) to the lifting arm element (7) and via a second joint (12) to the frame structure (2). Furthermore, the pivoting device (5) has a safety element (13) which can be transferred from a locking position blocking the second joint (12) of the link element (10) in the closed position of the wall (4) upon pivoting of the lifting arm element (7) by a predetermined pivot angle into a release position, in which the second joint (12) of the link element (10) is released, so that the first joint (11) of the link element (10) connected to the lifting arm element (7) is displaceable along a predetermined path upon further pivoting of the lifting arm element (7) in the direction of the open position of the wall (4).
