SELF-PIVOTING EXTENSION FOR A SIDE BARRIER OF A TRANSPORT TRAY

The present invention relates to a trailer, or else a towed or semi-mounted motor vehicle, for transport (1) of goods, comprising a loading platform (2) and delimited by fixed transverse walls (3) and at least one removable longitudinal side wall (4) comprising at least one upper and/or lower extension (5, 6), pivotally mounted respectively on the upper edge (41) or lower edge (42) of said longitudinal wall (4), whose rotation is controlled automatically and concomitantly with the movement of the longitudinal wall (4) by means of a controlled drive member (7, 8) fixed on the one hand to a guide arm (34, 35) belonging to the support and drive device (31 to 35) and on the other hand to the longitudinal wall (4, 43, 44) and to the extension (5, 6), in such a manner that, when the longitudinal wall is retracted towards an open position (A) close to the ground, respectively raised towards a closed position (B), the extension (5, 6) automatically folds back onto and flush against the external or lower face of the longitudinal wall (4, 43, 44), downwards or upwards as the case may be, leaving the loading area above the loading platform (2) completely free, respectively automatically unfolds in the extension of the longitudinal wall (4, 43, 44), so as to enclose the upper (92) and/or lower (91) layers of the cargo.
