DRIVE November 19, 2014
Source
The present disclosure relates to water injection in combustion engines. A combustion engine (10) may comprise a combustion unit (12), and at least one water injector (22) configured to inject water into or upstream of the combustion unit (12). The combustion engine (10) may further comprise a first cooler (16) fluidly connected upstream of the combustion unit (12), and a first water collector (18) fluidly interconnected between the first cooler (16) and the at least one water injector (22). The first water collector (18) may be configured to collect condensed water and to supply the collected water to the at least one water injector (22). Thereby, the first water collector (18) may serve as a rich water source for water injection.
