The invention relates to a coupling bracket (11) for holding a coupling element (93, 98) of a coupling arm of a trailer hitch or load carrier (97) for a motor vehicle (100), with a holding receptacle (12) delimited by a peripheral wall (56) for holding the coupling element (93, 98), with a pipe body (40) having a tube section (57), which has at least one peripheral contour (54, 55) extending transversely to its longitudinal extension direction (19) and along an inner circumference or outer circumference of the peripheral wall (56), in particular forming a stiffening and/or a positive fit contour (17) for the coupling element (93, 98). It is provided that the at least one peripheral contour (54, 55) is a forming contour (U1-U6) formed by a forming process from a blank (R).
