A battery module (100a) includes a plurality of battery cells (110) arranged in one direction; and a housing portion (120a) disposed on outer surfaces (111, 112, 113) of the plurality of battery cells (110). In the battery module (100a), the housing portion (120a) includes a reinforcing plate (122a) positioned between two adjacent battery cells (110). As a result, the strength of the housing portion (120a) can be increased, thereby obtaining a lightweight battery module (100a) whose safety is improved.
