Battery cell with a protection element

The present invention refers to a battery cell (100a) including an electrode assembly (110) having first and second electrode tabs (112, 113); a case (120a) accommodating the electrode assembly (111) therein and having a sealing portion (126a, 126b, 126c) formed at the edge of the case (120a); a protection element (140) connected to one of the electrode tabs (112, 113); and a mounting portion (130a, 130b, 130c) positioned in the sealing portion (126a, 126b, 126c) and accommodating the protection element (140) therein.
