Method for managing the service life of a stack of discs (also referred to as heat sink) of an aircraft brake

The method involves actuating an actuator to cause a pusher to come into contact with a stack of disks, and deducing a stroke of the actuator and a current level of wear for the stack of disks by taking difference with a nominal stroke stored in a memory corresponding to the stack of disks. A potential number of flights is estimated from the current level of wear and from the number of flights flown when the stack of disks is mounted by using an extrapolation process before the stack of disks reaches a maximum acceptable level of wear.
