An electromechanical actuator (2) is controlled when a braking reference signal crosses a contact threshold so that a pusher (3) approaches the stack of disks (1) and reaches a contact position with the stack of disks. The actuator is controlled immediately after storing the contact position so that pusher applies force on stack of disks in response to the braking reference signal.
