The actuator (2) has an actuator pin with a cavity and main portion (6) in which actuator pin is rotationally fixed with a clamping portion (8) that has a shape-memory element that is fixed or fastened to main portion and with which main portion is moved in specific rotational direction, and a return element (10) that has shape memory element that is fixed or set to main portion and to which main portion is moved in specific rotational direction. The clamping portion and/or the return element are fixed on a winding portion (12) in which several windings are applied. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) an outside mirror for motor vehicle; and (2) a method for operating actuator.
