The drive unit (10) has electric machine (12) that is provided with stator (16) and rotor (18) rotating about rotation axis (A). A clutch (20) produces rotationally driving connection of rotor with drive element (40). An electric actuator motor (36) has actuator shaft (36a) that is provided in operative connection with release assembly (32) for converting rotational motion of actuator shaft into translation movement. The release assembly has input element (32a) and output element (32b) that are rotated actually in operative connection with the actuator motor.
