The turbocharger has a bearing housing (4) formed adjacent a turbine housing (3) and two largely mutually parallel flow channels (6,7) of exhaust gases. A spiral wall (8) comprises the bearing housing facing a flow channel (6) belonging to the wall (10). The radial distance between the bearing housing facing the wall (10) and the shaft (5) in the entry area is small. The radial distance between the shaft and the partition (9) is large. A heat shield (12) is provided between the bearing housing facing the wall (10) and the hub (2). An independent claim is included for a method for manufacture of turbocharger.
