Air bag cover with at least one flap
DRIVE
May 7, 2014
The airbag cover (2) has a flap (1), which is defined by a predetermined breaking line and a joint edge in the material of the cover or on the edge of the material to rupture at the predetermined breaking line after the release of the airbag and to swivel the joint without rupturing at the hinge. The predetermined breaking line forms a flap edge. The material of the cover, particularly the top forms a fold (4a,4b) running along the joint. The upper side and the lower side of the material of the cover is laminated with a thermoplastic foil, particularly made of polyester or polypropylene. An independent claim is included for a machine for manufacturing an airbag cover.
