Bumper cross member assembly

The component (1) has energy absorbing components (3, 3.1) whose profile head surface facing a bumper cross beam (2) i.e. deep-drawn sheet steel part, is planar. Connection portions (5, 5.1) of the bumper cross beam include a device plate (7) covering the profile head surface of the energy absorbing components. Recesses (11, 11.1) are formed between legs and the device plate, where the legs form an enclosure for the energy absorbing components. The recesses are extended around width of the device plate, and structure of the device plate limiting the width extends with the connection portions.
