Method for improving the processing of wheel rim blanks

The method involves determining a middle plane (3) of a wheel rim and/or center plane of a view side and/or design middle of a wheel rim blank after the manufacturing of the blank. Material of a flange portion of the blank is mechanically removed in the form of a recess. The recess is formed such that the determined middle plane and/or center plane of the view side is aligned parallel to a clamping apparatus and/or the design middle is aligned on an axle center during supporting of the blank on the apparatus and during contacting of the recess with a supporting point of the apparatus. An independent claim is also included for a wheel rim blank.
